General Information & Requirements

  • The Dordogne River is Class I – suitable for all.
  • You must be able to swim 25 meters (82 ft) underwater or submerged.
  • Life jackets are mandatory.
  • Closed-toe shoes are required.
  • Children under 12 must be supervised by an adult.
  • Children under 5 are not allowed (Prefectural Order – 27/02/2013).
  • Minors unaccompanied by parents must have written parental consent.
  • Please respect the river, environment, and fishermen.
  • Dogs allowed on leash.
  • Do not throw litter into the river or on the banks.
  • Protect yourself from the sun (sunscreen, water bottle, hat, secure your glasses).
  • Avoid grabbing branches to prevent capsizing. Stay in the middle of the river.
